Mike "Seager" Seager

Employee Spotlight: Mike "Seager" Seager

Job Title: Shipping and Multimedia
Years at Scotchman Industries: 48.5 Years

When you think of a true Scotchman legend, Mike "Seager" Seager is the first name that comes to mind. With a staggering 48.5 years at the company, Seager is not only an expert in his field but also a cornerstone of our team. Whether it’s shipping out machines, creating company videos, capturing photography, or keeping everything running smoothly with our truckers constantly coming to transport our Scotchman equipment across the country, Seager’s got it covered. He’s the kind of guy who can fix anything, knows the ins and outs of the company, and always brings his A-game. He’s a jack of all trades, a problem solver, and above all, an awesome teammate!

A Day in the Life of Seager

Seager’s day starts bright and early at 5 a.m. "I begin by checking and proofreading orders to make sure everything is perfect. Then, I upload pictures of machines that are ready to ship, all while keeping a sharp eye out for anything that needs attention." But here’s the best part—he loves making videos for Scotchman. "It’s a blast showcasing our machines and all the cool stuff we’re doing at Scotchman."

When asked about the best part of his day, Seager's answer is always the same: "BS-ing with the truckers while loading the machines. It’s not just about getting the job done; it’s about building relationships and having a little fun while doing it."

The Challenges and Triumphs

After 48.5 years, Seager has seen it all. But even with multiple trucks waiting to be loaded and the occasional shipping frenzy, Seager never loses his cool. "When things get crazy, I just focus on keeping everything organized. I’ve been around long enough to know exactly what to do, when to do it, and to make it all come together." That’s why Seager is the go-to guy when things need to run like clockwork. He's the guy who can always be counted on to make sure everything ships out without a hitch.

Beyond the Job

When Seager isn’t busy shipping machines, creating videos, making our equipment look great on camera, or playfully giving the “new guy” a hard time, you can bet he's around town staying active! Whether he's playing guitar, announcing at local parades, assisting the school with audio and video equipment, helping anyone in need of technical support, or tinkering with anything that needs fixing—he does it all! A proud family man, Seager enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, Lori, their three adult children, and their eight grandchildren. And of course, he's got a cat who probably runs the household with an iron paw.

What Makes Seager So Great?

It’s hard to sum up everything that makes Seager such an exceptional employee. From his work ethic to his positive attitude, his ability to "make things work" in any situation, and his genuine care for the people he works with—Seager truly exemplifies what it means to be a great team member. He’s the guy who’s always ready with a funny story to lighten the mood, a smile, and that extra bit of help when things get hectic. His quiet wisdom and years of experience make him a mentor to many around him.
